This is a hugely unpopular opinion, but I found this book to be such a disappointment. Despite being a short 182 pages in length, I was unable to finish reading this. Whilst I understand that there is clearly an audience for a book like this, I think without all the drawbacks and shortcomings it has that prevented me from finishing it – it would be a much better and beneficial read. I think it gives a taste of something good, but does not follow through, and could have been so much more meaningful and long-lasting in my opinion.

Steelheart

Title: Steelheart /Author: Brandon Sanderson/ Published: 2013/ DNF-ed

I thought I would LOVE this book. I tried so hard to love this book. Unfortunately, it ended up as another DNF for me, which I’m sad about. I got to about 100 pages until I realised it probably wasn’t going to get much better for me.

The beginning was strong, and threw me right into the realms of this well-crafted world, but then after that things began to go downhill for me and I realised I would probably enjoy another book more.

DNF-ing “Stars Above” by Marissa Meyer

Hellooo everyone,

Now, The Lunar Chronicles are one of my most favourite series of all-time, and so naturally when I saw this at the library I knew I had to get it. 

What I was confronted with was pages and pages that increased my disappointment. How can these even be classified as short stories? I don’t think they are. 

In fact, they seemed to me, to simply just be snippets of things that happened in between the lines, and we don’t actually learn much (or anything) new – at least from before I stopped.
