Guys, I have to say I am really disappointed that this book turned out this way. I was so excited to see a new Islamic-fiction book out there that was receiving so much buzz and on top of that a Pride and Prejudice retelling??? I was so ready to fall in love with this book, like so many of the other reviewers out there, but alas it did not turn out that way.

First-Impressions: Geekerella

My first thought was ohhh this is why I never read contemporaryAha. Ha. Literally I must sound like I’m so hard to please, but I’m not… really. I feel like my expectations for books have risen since I started blogging. That could be for a number of reasons.

To be honest the reason I’m not liking the book so far is probably the predictability. I already know how this is going to end. Any well-read person will know how this is going to end. Even my five-year-old cousin will.

Obviously, Prince Charming is going to marry the princess, the only difference is in the book their roles have been altered significantly, but the concept stays. And yes, that’s only something you can expect with retellings. Continue reading “First-Impressions: Geekerella”
