Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog! It is so lovely to see you here, and I am so privileged to have you in my tiny, book-filled, opinionated, wordy corner of the internet.
First of all, as all my life updates in the past two years have been, I must begin with an apology on the inconsistent posting… sometimes, I’ve realised, it just isn’t possible to balance everything… you really have to choose. You have to choose between your priorities in your life, but you also have to choose what gives you the most sanity (which can be a hard choice to make, sadly).
As some of you lovely regular readers may be aware, I’ve been doing my A Levels for the past two years. This crazy year has meant that I ended up doing three sets of exams instead of just one (those of you who aren’t in the UK and are not familiar with what our education system is going through with the cancellation of exams… please ignore my snarky comment – either way I do recognise that this is the safer option and am grateful for that) and perhaps the same or a greater volume of stress as normally would have been experienced. Anyways, yesterday I finished my last day of lessons (incredibly nostalgic and emotional, I must say), so now I have a wealth of time at my disposal.
I am so grateful that I have this blog to pour out all the spare energy I have in doing something that I love and am passionate about – and I love nothing more than books and discussion – one of my two most favourite things in the world. I have almost 4 months until university starts (I might discuss this in a later post… but the university that I hope to go to has the most BEAUTIFUL library I have ever seen and I am ecstatic to spend countless hours there), and I intend to spend my summer basking in the sun (once the *cough* UK weather *cough* decides to behave itself *cough*) with a book in hand, typing away on my laptop or writing in one of my many beaten notebooks… either way, you shall be involved!!
I’ve had this blog for almost 4 years, and starting it back in October 2017 was truly one of the best decisions I’ve made. It’s been such a joy to spend my summers, holidays and free time posting on here and interacting with this brilliant community – sharing thoughts and sparking so many friendships. I never would have thought the online bookish community could be such a happy and beautiful place, and I am honoured to be apart of it. I cannot wait to interact more with you all!
Thank you for reading, and I hope this clears up any confusion there may have been in the direction of this blog! Speak to you all very soon…
welcome back!!!
