P-Q-R-S-T Books! | Top 5 Tuesday

Hello everyone, welcome back to another Top 5 Tuesday post! The titles with these letters are mostly really amazing and I can’t wait to share them with you all.

The Prodigal Daughter

I borrowed this book on OverDrive because my friend recommended it but I did NOT expect to be hit with such a masterpiece. This book is so many things I love: female badassery, business, politics, banter. Florentyna is such a beautiful and strong and inspirational character and watching her grow throughout this book until the very ending was an absolutely amazing experience. Read my review here.

Queen of Air and Darkness

I don’t know if I have to talk about books I would recommend or if it can just be about books in general, but I didn’t enjoy this book as much as everyone else. I found it super over-hyped and way too long for what it actually was. I did a big review on this 5 posts long, which you can see here, here, here, here and here.

Ruin and Rising

This book was also a disappointment. I loved the first book, the second book was still good, but the ending for this book was just disappointing. I hated Mal. The Darkling was my favourite character, and things Alina did in that sense really annoyed me. See my review for that here.

Six of Crows

This is one of my favourite books that I’ve talked about approximately 3167236198 times on this blog. It’s filled with an amazing and badass crew of memorable characters with a mind-twisting and rollercoaster of a plot. The banter is something that will keep you laughing and the fight scenes keep you holding your breath. This duology is not one to be overlooked.

The Mysterious Benedict Society

It’s not often when you come across a Middle-Grade book that has stayed in your favourites list even after you’ve been reading YA books for the past 2-3 years. These characters and the banter is everything. The fact that this is also completely clean is B E A U T I F U L to me! This book is hilarious, entertaining and something I would recommend to everyone in the universe.

Which of these books have you read? ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. Great post! I remember your wonderful five reviews on Queen of Air and Darkness lol – good times! I absolutely agree – I mean I enjoyed it because it just made me so emotional, but it really was too long. The first interesting thing happened after 300 pages and the first 100 pages were for literally nothing.
I also don’t love Mal too much, the Darkling would have been cool, but my fave will always be Nikolai!
And SAME when it comes to Six of Crows – I feel like everyone is sick of me mentioning it in every second post and literally every tag with a question like “your favorite book/ best crew / fictional crush (Kaz) or cutest couple (Kaz and Inej)
    Happy reading!

  3. I totally agree with you, Mal is such a bland, disappointing character! And Alina is so frustrating. SIX OF CROWSSSS it will forever reign in my heart as one of the best books ever๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ and I totally forgot about the Mysterious Benedict Society! I read them all when I was younger but I remember especially loving the first book and the prequel๐Ÿ˜„ Great post!๐Ÿ’œ

  4. Yes, I totally understand! I mean, I really liked all the protagonists and that was the main reason I actually made it that far… there just wasnโ€™t a main plot line, at least not one I could find – I mean there was some development, of course, but just nothing really big happening and so I just stopped at some point… which is really sad because I really want to know the ending, and so I will definitely continue ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜
