Book Reviews, TBRs

New to my TBR #3

Hey everyone and as usual I’ve been stalking Goodreads for all these new released and boiiiii IM GETTING EXCITED!!! So let’s jump right in because these titles are just howling to be read, and as master bookworms we mustn’t do anything but oblige.

The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle

This sounds like something I’ve never read before, and I’m totally ready to plunge into the deep end. From the reviews I’ve read about this book this will apparently take its readers on a rollercoaster skywards which will keep you absolutely hooked until the very end. It sounds thrilling… because it’s a thriller (ouch okay that didn’t work moving on). I don’t usually read thrillers (because why when there is so much YA fantasy?!) but this one sounds sooo intriguing I just have to stick it onto my TBR and I think it would be a perfect read while the weather has taken a turn for the creepy *thunder roars outside*.

Give the Dark My Love by Beth Revis

This again, sound so original that I just could not resist. But one warning that you guys may not have picked up on before you add this book to your ever-growing TBR – this book is supposed to be super dark and have some super disturbing scenes in it… the only reason I’m adding it despite that is because a) I’m pretty good at skipping scenes in books that don’t suit my taste and b) I’m not sure how that would fit my own scale of “dark” so I guess we might as well just try it because the protagonist sound so interesting as well as the context of the story.

Forest of a Thousand Lanterns by Julie C. Dao

Since 2017 I have been resisting the urge to add this to my TBR. Why? I honestly can’t remember. But this book screams for me because a) RETELLINGS! YES! OH! YES! And b) I loooveeee these books set in Asian backgrounds steeped with Asian culture it’s just so gorgeous and lovely to read about and the protagonist sounds interesting because apparently she’s rather unlikeable. I wonder how I’ll fare with that? There’s only one way to find out, friends.

A Spark of White Fire by Sangu Madonna

Of course another YA fantasy because this girl right here CANNOT RESIST. Evidently. Also another retelling so of course I’m totally down for that. Also it’s about princesses and spaceships and family loyalties and complicated political situations and DID I MENTION SPACESHIPS all swirled with what is said to be gorgeous writing soooo obviously I have to read this asap. No surprise there.

And these are the new accomplices to the 241 books on my TBR. Hah. I would say it’s a lot but I can’t help thinking it’s probably tiny in comparison to other bookworms’ so I’ll refrain from that lol. How big is your TBR??? Speak soon, everybody! 🙂
