First Impressions: Children of Blood and Bone

Image result for children of blood and boneNo, I have shamefully not finished this yet. I’m putting this down to too much fantasy, and just not being in the mood for it yet. But, the other day I started it again, and now that I’m on the second chapter, I have a lot more interest.

I don’t think it’s because I set my expectations too high, I think it’s because I just wasn’t in the mood for that type of story, but I feel like I am now.

As soon as the narrative switched towards the palace, I was hooked, because I can literally never get enough of fantasies surrounding royalty and kingship and all of that fancy jazz.

I just find it so intriguing. Now I am even more intrigued. But because I started Flame in the Mist, I’m also officially torn. So.

It’s all about giving books a chance. Just reading until the end could completely change your view of a book. I DNF a lot of books, so I shouldn’t really be the one saying this (lol) but it has happened to me before, so!

I really want to read this book, but the more I want to read it probably the less I’ll actually read it. I don’t know? That’s just how it is sometimes... maybe after Flame in the Mist I’ll get more into this book.

I am determined not to DNF it! I must know what the hype is, and I know I should enjoy it, if I just keep going. There are just so many distractions!!!

Let me know your thoughts on this book! Speak soon 🙂

  1. I’m actually about halfway through Children of Blood and Bone right now, and I’m loving every page of it. It is high fantasy though, so if you’re not in the mood for that at this time, maybe set it aside and come back to it later? Because, trust me, it’s a great book! 🙂

  2. I’m listening to the audiobook and I love the narrator! The magic system and the setting are things that stand out to me, but it’s still a first book in a series and there the typical YA romance.

  3. I’m so glad you’re enjoying it! I don’t know it’s so strange because I just read Heartless and gave it 5/5 stars and I thinkkk that’s high fantasy too? Yes, that’s what I’m doing, I think I’ll start it again after my current read 🙂

  4. I’m with you on this one; I’ve actively not read this one because I’m waiting for the hype to die down,or else I know it will hinder my reading experience… I want to rea it but, at the same time,I don’t.
